Mike Chen MD

Dr. Mike Chen is a Professor and the Division Director of Pediatric Surgery at University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine.  He serves as the Surgeon-in-Chief and holds the Farley Endowed Chair at Children’s of Alabama Hospital.  He is passionate about global health having participated in medical missions to the Caribbean as well as to Vietnam for the past 20 years.  Dr. Chen has taken several residents and fellows on medical missions as these experiences expand their horizon and enhance their understanding of global health care.  Additionally, he has hosted numerous international pediatric surgeons at Children’s of Alabama Hospital.
