Dr. Don Moores is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics and is the Division Chief of Pediatric Surgery at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. He was raised in Asia where his parents were on a medical mission, and he’s felt a life-long commitment to follow in their footsteps. After medical school and a General Surgery Residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children in Sydney Australia. He’s an active member of the Pacific Association of Pediatric Surgeons and as Division Chief at LLUCH he’s been host to numerous visiting surgeons from China. He and his wife Penny, who is a full-time volunteer and who has a degree in Health Information Management, have participated in medical mission trips to Africa and Vietnam and are eagerly looking forward to further participation in global pediatric surgery missions to improve the lives of children.
Penny Moores is a Registered Health Information Administrator, but after working in this field for 10 years became a full-time volunteer and has subsequently worked with numerous organizations benefiting children. She is particularly passionate about projects that improve the lives of pediatric patients being cared for at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. With her husband Don, she has been to Mozambique and Vietnam on global surgery medical mission trips, and is excited to be a part of an ongoing collaborative effort to help children in underserved areas.
